Installation
Instructions for El Camino Rear WrapIt is very important to have your bumper adjusted
correctly if the Rear Wrap is to fit properly. If your bumper is
sagging down, you must adjust it up as far as possible. To do
this, simply loosen four bolts each bumper shock side and lift
bumper up with floor or bumper jack and tighten. If rear wrap
does not go all the way to the end of the bumper, take out bumper
shims between inner bumper and bumper shocks.
Place both rear quarter panels and rear filler on ground as it will
be installed on vehicle. Line up rear quarter panel against
rear filler so they align properly. Drill a ¼” hole from rear
filler through rear quarter on top and bottom for both sides.
Hold rear quarter panel up against vehicle so that it is parallel
to the ground and the end of panel is under bumper. Mark and
drill rear quarter tabs where they hit the bottom of the flat
under-side of quarter. Pull up, out and back of rear quarter
so it fits inside rear wheel well ½” up from bottom of well.
Drill and install ¼” and ½“ ” sheet metal screw and washer.
NOTE: rear quarter panel fits along side body until it meets bumper
hump, (behind bumper), then mounts beneath hump,( A). Repeat for
opposite side, but do not tighten, for adjustment reasons.
Adjust bumper so ends of rear quarter fit flat on bottom of
bumper.
To install rear filler piece, remove bolts in bottom of bumper
where indicated (B). Hold filler up against bottom of bumper
and mark where tabs hit bolts on bottom of bumper. If you have
bumper guards, use metal file to scribe out rear filler panel to
accept bumper guards. Drill out filler panel tabs large
enough so you will have adjustment. Place rear filler under bumper
and attach upper and lower ¾” sheet metal screws, small washer and
black Tinnerman nut on opposite side, (these holes should already
be drilled according to previous instructions). Re-install
bottom bumper bolts, and tighten all attachment points.
NOTE: If exhaust pipe is covered by Rear Wrap, (sides or
back), you can (1) cut out to accept exhaust, (2) install exhaust
extensions, so exhaust will hang lower, or (3) cut exhaust tip back
far enough to install exhaust tip turndowns.
