Installation Instructions for
LEX-18-D-EL Designer Air Deflector
We have made the installation instruction of the Designer Air
Deflector as easy as possible yet we do advise you to read the
entire instructions CAREFULLY. Take your time and use some
craftsmanship. The end results will be worth the effort!
Your Designer Air Deflector is made with urethane that has memory
in it. When you remove the Air Deflector from the box, it will look
deformed. Simply place the Air Deflector in the sun for a couple of
hours, or install and it will go back to original form.
Align and drill ¼” hole from end cap front to Air Deflector back
tab. Drill two holes at both ends of end cap making sure you have
room for washer. They will attach to bottom of nose tab. Turn
the Air Deflector upside down and you will see oblong marks that
must be drilled out for installation. Drill these marks out with a
3/8” drill bit.
Center the Air Deflector on the center of your designer nose,
making sure the Air Deflector is even. Mark and drill ¼” holes in
the bottom of your nose. Install the 1” hex bolt with ¼” washer
from top to bottom. Loosely install 3/8” washer, ¼” washer and lock
nut from the bottom.
Start from the center, align and tighten one side at a time. When
fastening around curve, push in with your thumb to get required
alignment before tightening.
The end caps should be lined up with the Air Deflector. Drill two
¼” holes in the top of the end cap and nose to install final
fasteners.
