Installation Instructions for
Malibu Wagon Roll Pan
We have made the installation instructions of the Roll Pan as easy
as possible yet we do advise you to read the entire instructions
CAREFULLY. Take your time and use some craftsmanship. The end
results will be worth the effort!
Remove taillights from rear bumper and unscrew pigtails from
taillights. Pull pigtail through inner bumper and remove
bumper and bumper mounting brackets from frame horns.
If you would like to have some protection (and we strongly suggest
you do) you can purchase a piece of rectangular steel tubing that
is 58 inches long, by 2 inches wide, and 1 inch thick, (the steel
should be at least 10 to 12 gauge steel). For additional
support, two bars can be used and bolted to the top and bottom of
rear frame horns. Lauren Engineering makes no warranty
implied or otherwise that this product offers any protection
what-so-ever in the event of an accident or crash.
Drill holes in the top of Roll Pan indented slots. Place Roll
Pan into mounting position. Mark indent’s holes on
body. Remove Roll Pan and drill the marks. Place
Roll Pan as it will be installed and secure with 1 ½ inch sheet
metal screws and washers. As there is NO room to attach the
Roll Pan sides from the inside, we have put indents to attach from
the outside. Simply drill indents (at the angle your Roll Pan
needs to go) into the body and attach with 1 ½ inch sheet metal
screws. The holes will need to be filled with Bondo or any
other filler and sanded to finish. If there are any gaps
between body and Roll Pan - refer to Special Notes and
Adjusting the Fit.
Pull pigtail back through inner bumper and reinstall into
taillights. Hold taillight into mounting position and drill
into tabs provided to install taillights. Install taillights
and Hit the Bricks!
