Installation Instructions for
EL Camino Tucked Front Bumper
We have made the installation of the Tucked Front Bumper as easy as
possible, yet we advise that you read the entire instructions
CAREFULLY. Take your time and apply some craftsmanship. The results
will be worth the effort!
Remove the front bumper, (4 bolts per bumper shock). Remove both
rubber filler sides attached to bottom of the front fender, (save
these bolts as they will be used to install the new tucked
bumper).
If you would like to have some protection, you can purchase a piece
of rectangular steel tubing that is 49 inches long, by 2 inches
wide, and 1 inch thick, (the steel should be at least 10 to 12
gauge steel). For additional support, two bars can be used and
bolted to the top and the bottom of the bumper shocks. Lauren
Engineering makes no warranty implied or otherwise that this
product offers any protection what-so-ever in the event of an
accident or crash.
Place the Tucked Front Bumper in mounting position and mark holes
on bumper from back side of fenders where rubber fillers were
removed, (be sure your bumper is up as far as it will go). Drill
and reinstall hardware that was used to secure rubber fillers to
fenders on one side. If you wish to install a front spoiler with
your bumper, simply notch the Tucked Front Bumper, (the rectangular
mark on photo A and cut out on photo B). The front spoiler will fit
in between the fender and Tucked Front Bumper, to be secured with
factory hardware are in the factory holes, (photo C). The Tucked
Front Bumper is designed to spring load into place for durability,
so it will look to be wide. Simply have a friend push in with his
knee or hands to desired position as you install factory hardware
to complete the project, (photo B).
