Installation Instructions for
LEX-RBC-GN: Grand National Rear Bumper Cover
We have made the installation of your Rear Bumper Cover as simple
as possible, yet we advise that you read the entire instructions
CAREFULLY. Take your time and apply some craftsmanship.
The end results will be worth the effort!
Place both bumper cover and rear quarter panels on the ground, as
they will be installed on vehicle. Line up rear quarter
panels against cover so they align properly. Drill a 1/4”
hole from rear quarter into cover, top and bottom for both
sides. Attach rear quarters to cover with 3/4” hex bolts,
washers and hex nuts.
Next, remove taillights from inside trunk. Unscrew pigtail
from taillights. Remove bumper (4 bolts per bumper
shock). Remove chrome bumper from inner bumper and reinstall
inner bumper, loosely. NOTE: Depending on thickness of cover,
you may have trim off 1” from inner bumper at top outside
corners.
Remove license plate and housing by pulling out on license plate
and removing two 10mm hex screws. Remove both rubber fillers
from rear of vehicle, (keep these nuts as they will be used to
secure bumper cover). Drill marked holes in sides of bumper
cover, large enough for adjustment. When installing cover,
lift from back bottom of cover, leaving rear quarters angled toward
the ground so quarters will slide up inside the rear wheel
well. Place cover over inner bumper as it will be
installed. Secure with hex nuts that were used to secure
rubber fillers. With cover installed, drill 1/4” holes to
reinstall license plate and secure with factory hex screw.
With quarter panels inside rear wheel well, drill and install 3/4”
sheet metal screw. Pull slightly out at bottom center of rear
quarter and install final 3/4” sheet metal screw.
If exhaust pipe is covered by bumper cover, you can (1) cut out
cover or quarters to accept exhaust, (2) install exhaust extension,
so exhaust will hang down lower, or (3) cut exhaust tip back far
enough to install exhaust tip turn-downs.
